Dear Readers,

*

*

I’ve been so blessed to work with and fellowship with professional athletes (read here)*I’ve been in bible study and chapel with the NY Giants for three years and I can tell you no player, coach or management has been more devout in thier faith than Davd Tyree. It’s easy to say after the fact but if*I wasn’t watching the Super Bowl and someone describe the play to me and asked* who did I think caught*the ball, My answer would be David. Why? You have to know his story ( Part of it here)

Below is a letter from the Giants Chapel Leader inviting you to hear David this coming Thursday. I have no doubt that God had allowed this to happen to give David a world platform to share his faith and help save souls. Despite all the attention, monies and fame, David is still the same man I knew before “the catch” (lets watch it one more time)

Please read below and make sure you email me if you’re coming.

Please consider attending and hearing from one of the heroes of Super Bowl 42.* Who will ever forget the “helmet catch” that kept the “drive alive” which led to the NY Giants winning perhaps one of the most dramatic Super Bowl games ever played.*David Tyree, Giants wide receiver, was not a household name prior to last February 3rd.* In fact, due to a broken wrist in training camp and the sudden death of his mother late in the year, Tyree saw limited action during the regular season.* He then did nothing to distinguish himself during the three Giants playoff victories which earned them the right to represent the NFC in the big dance.* Most New York area football fans did not know the name David Tyree.* But his life would be forever changed and his name would go down in the annals of football lore because of his experiences on that fateful winter day in Phoenix, Arizona.

What few people know is the personal story behind the public story.* I invite you to hear from a young man who has had to fight through significant adversity and set-backs in order to “make it to the top”.* David Tyree will be sharing his story this coming Thursday, November 20, on the campus of Montclair State University.* The program, sponsored by the MSU chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ, will begin at 3pm in the Ballroom of the MSU Student Center.*

In a day when professional athletes often come across as God’s gift to the world, you’ll be delighted to hear from one who understands his roots and position in life.

Hope to see you there,
George McGovern
